SMU pageant filming
Yesterday was the shooting for SMU pageant. Basically I was handed the job to film and create a short video for the SMU pageant. They want us to do it like Miss Universe style where we will show them choosing their clothes, undergoing make up, etc. And if you watch Diva on a Dime, part of the video will be almost similar to that.
I was still amazed by the fact that I could do some high level video editing and creating a video. I started from zero and totally had no idea what video editing was all about and did not have any mindset to do up any video clip. However things changed when I enter SMU Campus TV. We are a small group but passionate. =p The school paid for our intensive training and our state-of-the-art equipment. Not to mention they spent quite a few ten of thousands of dollars.
I was soon handed my first project to do up a video for Convocation 2006. One of the biggest event in SMU to welcome the freshmen. Then ta-da comes one day when I was talking to my friend about Convocation editing and he asked me whether I could take up the filming of pageant video. Of course I am more than willing. Besides it's a new thing for me, there are other "extra incentives". If you ask Shane he will know what I mean. Shane was the main camera man while I am the chief editor. This is a two man team.
The shoot yesterday was at Marina Square in this shop called Buffalo David Bitton. It was their apparell sponsor. I could tell you that the Jeans there is fantastic and they really have a wide range of collection. Even if you put an ugly person in their clothes, he / she will turn out good. Or at least better than before. But the price is damn bloody expensive. $300 minimum for a Jeans. However if I have the money, I wouldn't mind shopping there. If and only if I have the money.
The pageant contestants was not bad. At least they were charming and fresh. There were particularly 2 girls that caught my eyes. Shouldn't mention who. Haha. I really feel that I met 1 of the girl before somewhere. Well as the saying goes "If we are fated, we will meet again". The whole shooting was a little draggy at first but it was quite enjoyable as the people we worked with was nice. Even the so called "models" were cooperative. If they were cocky I would just take their worst shot and put it in the video. Haha. But luckily there were none.
Ended quite late about 11plus. But I am still grumpy as they promised us to help carry the equipment back to school but in the end they went to enjoy themselves! Grrr!
